Senior Weather Presenter

A rare opportunity for an experienced presenter, reporter or meteorologist to join our team in Sydney on Sky News Weather (Foxtel, Channel 601) and other Sky News channels and streaming platforms.

What’s the role?

  • Research forecasts, warnings and observations with our meteorologists and priorities weather events to build the daily editorial
  • Build and present weather reports using our industry leading graphics software
  • Respond to breaking weather news and provide live severe weather alerts as required.
  • Work closely with Sky News reporters, producers, and presenters to collaborate on coverage for weather events.
  • Write weather news items and prepare openers and teases including basic video editing.
  • Available to work on weekends, public holidays and fill other shifts at short notice, as required

 Who are you?

  • Two years’ experience in a television, radio, print or online newsroom, or similar

OR

  • BSc graduate in Atmospheric Science or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to confidently present on-air
  • Developed time management skills, the ability to multitask and work to strict deadlines
  • Willingness to learn complex scientific processes in a short training period
  • Ability to work independently within a broader team environment
  • Experience with Quantel & ENPS desirable
