Sky News Australia is currently looking for a full time Junior Syndication Producer based at the Sky News Centre in Macquarie Park. The candidate will work alongside Digital News Producers.

This role is responsible for compiling and distributing digital news videos across Sky News’ extensive outdoor network, including our international subscription platform Australia Channel.

Australian News Channel operates a range of digital news media platforms, reaching millions of Australians each week.

We are looking for someone who has a keen interest in news and current events. The candidate has a high level of attention to detail, is technically savvy with a strong ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously. 

The most important attribute is a keen interest in high quality journalism and the drive to grow SkyNews output in terms of quantity and quality.

The candidate will take initiative and work autonomously, as well as take direction on priorities and editorial style.

The Sky News newsroom is in operation 24 hours a day and all members of the team are required to be available for flexible hours, including irregular hours and unpredictable shifts, driven by news demands with regular weekend work.

What’s the role? 

  • Compiling short bulletins ready for distribution
  • Using video editing software (Quantel)
  • Efficient proof reading
  • Cutting and distributing licensed content
  • Additional syndication duties as required including converting programs into Podcasts,
  • uploading On-Demand programs
  • Be able to identify newsworthy opinion and interview content from our television channels
  • and ensure this is delivered to our online audience quickly and accurately to drive this
  • content into the news cycle
